Your Hosting Choice Matters

Hosting Options

Think of hosting as the real estate lot where your new home lives after it’s constructed. You have to host your site somewhere, and you want that place to keep your site safe and secure.

Not all hosting providers are created equal, so do your research before choosing.

Here are your three main options for hosting your website:

1. WP Engine

We highly recommend WP Engine for all our WordPress websites. WP Engine specializes in WordPress sites, has amazing customer support, and puts a high priority on site speed and site security. They do daily site backups and even have a Hacked Site Guarantee.

WP Engine costs around $35 per month, but they offer discounts if you pay a year in advance. We’re a partner of WP Engine, so our clients also get a special discount!

2. Managed Hosting with Website Muscle

The thing about websites is, they need maintenance in order to function optimally. Software is always coming out with newer versions and needs to be updated. Outdated software can make your site vulnerable to bugs and hackers.

Your hosting provider won’t be logging into your website monthly to perform updates to your plugins, WordPress, or theme.

So if you host with WP Engine or another hosting provider, YOU will be responsible for logging into your site (recommended monthly) and performing updates. It’s not difficult, but it takes time.

Or you can take advantage of Managed Hosting with Website Muscle and we’ll do it for you.

We’ll host your site (through WP Engine) and we will log in monthly and take care of all the updates to WordPress and your plugins. We’ll notify you of any security vulnerabilities and we’ll send you a free monthly report so you can see how your site is performing with Google Analytics.

Managed Hosting with Website Muscle is $100/month, with options to pay monthly or a year in advance.

3. Another Hosting Provider

If you’d like to select a different hosting provider, there are several low-cost options out there. The one we recommend is Bluehost, which can start as low as $3.95/month.

You aren’t likely to get the same level of care as you will with WP Engine (and definitely not the same level of care you’d get with our Managed Hosting), but we believe Bluehost is the best of its kind.
