Your Hosting Provider Matters
WordPress Website Hosting Options
Think of website hosting as the real estate lot where your new home lives after it is constructed. You have to host your website somewhere, and you want that place to keep your site safe and secure.
Not all hosting providers are created equal. Your professional website deserves a business class hosting provider. The last thing you need is for your customers to visit your website, only to find it has been broken, hacked, or gone.
Here are your three main options for hosting your website:
1. Maintenance & Hosting with Website Muscle – BEST VALUE
The thing about websites is, they need maintenance in order to function optimally. Software is always coming out with newer versions and needs to be updated. Outdated software can make your site vulnerable to bugs and hackers. (Think about your iPhone – it has to be updated regularly with the latest software updates, or things will start to get wonky.)
Your hosting provider won’t be logging into your website monthly to perform updates to your plugins, WordPress, or themes.
So if you host with WP Engine or another hosting provider, YOU will be responsible for logging into your site (recommended monthly) and performing updates. It’s not difficult, but it takes time.
Choose Maintenance & Hosting with Website Muscle and we’ll do it all for you.
We’ll host your site and we will log in regularly and take care of all the updates to WordPress and your plugins and themes. We’ll handle any security vulnerabilities and we’ll send you a free monthly report so you can see how your site is performing. We’ll be your point of contact for any hosting or website-related questions, so you’ll never have to reach out to your hosting provider’s customer support.
Here’s what you get with Website Muscle Maintenance & Hosting:

2. WP Engine – Recommended
We highly recommend WP Engine for all our WordPress websites. WP Engine specializes in WordPress sites, has amazing customer support, and puts a high priority on site speed and site security.
WP Engine offers discounts if you pay a year in advance. We’re a preferred partner of WP Engine, so our clients also get a special discount!

Note: If you sign up for your own WP Engine hosting account, you or someone on your team will be responsible for logging into the site and performing software updates. We can show you how to do it, but it may not be the best use of your time, unless you have someone on your team dedicated to managing the website.
3. Discount Hosting Provider – Not Recommended
If you’d like to select a different hosting provider, there are several low-cost options out there.
You aren’t going to get the same level of care as you will with WP Engine (and definitely not the same level of care you’d get with our Managed Hosting). Discount hosting providers are notorious for horrible customer service, poor security, slower load times, and other things you don’t want to be associated with a professional website. You may save money in the short-term, but in the long run it may cost you. We do not recommend this option, but it’s your choice and we’ll go with whatever you decide.
