The Country Club: An “Exclusive” Case Study

This was a really fun project, as the website was being built simultaneously with the structure itself, and we got a front row seat to see it all come together.

The Client

The Country Club is a new Costa Mesa dining and drinking establishment for adults 21 and over. It is nestled among the many shops and restaurants along Costa Mesa’s popular 17th Street, in an iconic building that has been one of Orange County’s oldest continuously operating drinking establishments. Local patrons will know the place as formerly Pierce Street Annex, but it has had many other names, going back all the way to the 1960s.

Although the building was completely remodeled, the original A-frame ceiling that the structure has had since its inception was preserved to keep a bit of the site’s history alive. The Country Club is beautifully decorated, comfortable, and luxurious, making guests feel like they’re part of an exclusive club.

The food, the drinks, the service — we could go on and on, but you should just go check it out for yourself!

The Project

Even though the building was still under construction, the vision for The Country Club was mostly complete when we met Rob from 714 Media, the PR company running The Country Club’s marketing efforts. That made designing the site a little bit easier, as the color scheme and decor had already been selected.

The site features a silent, rotating background video (for desktop), as well as a mobile version of the site, and a custom menu page with a sub-navigation featuring signature cocktails and other libations, happy hour, dinner, and weekend brunch offerings.

Adding images of gathering, drinking, dining, and dancing was paramount. We made sure to leave plenty of room to highlight the professional photography of The Country Club.

And finally, we added a Press page to highlight all the news and accolades The Country Club receives as it grows in popularity.

The Results

As privileged guests before its official public opening, we can testify that the elegant, yet casual and friendly feel of the website definitely matches the feeling you’ll get when you visit The Country Club.
